We cannot currently split payments. At present, if we cancel a job as part of a dispute then the freelancer will not be paid (no matter how much work was completed) and the buyer will be refunded in full. Alternatively, if we side with the freelancer, the buyer will not receive a refund and the freelancer will be paid in full.
However, we do recognize that sometimes the best and most fair resolution is a partial refund. And we do have a workaround for this. Both the buyer and provider will have to agree to a new price for the work that was done on the job and raise a custom job proposal. Once the new job has been purchased the original job is then cancelled.
